Explore a decade of Indianapolis traffic using INDOT’s historical annual average daily traffic data. Choose a year, inspect a road’s history, or compare traffic volumes between two years.

I was curious in regards to the extent that (never-ending) highway construction changes traffic flow amounts on local roads. I needed historical traffic data for it, and thought some kind of visualization would be a good first step.

What you can explore

• Road sections, colored by annual average vehicles per day.
• Individual road histories and absolute or percentage changes between years.
• A view with interstates hidden to make smaller-road patterns easier to inspect.

Missing values and uncertain historical matches are marked.
